MUNA Participant

Dear MUNA Participant

29th May is fast approaching and we know that you and your colleagues will be well advanced researching your country to be represented at the Model United Nations Assembly.

We would like to encourage you to revisit www.muna.com.au and read again the following pages;

• What is MUNA?
• Rules of Debate and Procedures
• Judging Guidelines

After this revision, you will know that it is important for you to attend wearing the national dress of the country that you represent and, most importantly, you will need to be aware of the position that your country has taken in regard to the 8 resolutions to be debated. You will be judged on your demonstrated awareness of such positions.

You will also see that you must be prepared to debate each of the 8 resolutions even though you might not do so. When your team registered on-line you were asked to indicate your speaking preferences, but you must be prepared to speak on any resolution.

As you will see on the website, your country is part of a voting bloc (Eastern European, Asian, etc). You should get to know your fellow bloc members, as they can be helpful in advancing a concerted point of view, and will be your allies in developing debating tactics.

Know your attendance times. It is very important that you attend all sessions i their entirety in order to gather important information about the programme, to plan bloc tactics and to ensure that you have the best possible opportunity to display your debating skills.. Naturally you are advised to be in attendance well before the actual starting times.

Continue strongly with your research and we look forward to greeting you at MUNA.

The Rotary Club of Beecroft.
